SIMPLE YET DELICIOUS PULAO

This is a one pot meal for lunch or dinner.
Try out this simple and yet delicious pulao. This simple Indian rice dish probably needs no introduction.
Simple , easy to make and healthy.
Basmati rice 1 cup
Green peas 3/4 cup
Turmeric 1 Tsp
Curry leaves 8-10
Red chili powder 1 Tbsp
Garam masala 1 Tsp
Salt As per taste
Oil 2 Tbsp
Black cardamom 2
Jeera 1 Tsp
Wash the Basmati rice and soak it for 10 min.
Drain and keep aside.
Heat oil in a cooker.
Add cumin seeds, curry leaves,black cardamom.
Add sliced onion, stir and saute till the onion turns translucent.
Add chopped tomato and stir it for 5 min.
Add salt, red chili powder, garam masala, turmeric powder and mix well.
Add the drained rice and stir gently.
Add green peas and water, mix gently.
Cover the lid of the pressure cooker, and cook until one whistle on medium flame.
Turn off the heat.
Serve hot , pour 1 spoon of ghee on it. Ghee increases the taste of Pulao. Serve with chutney or pickle and papad.
