Here is a nutritious Thepala made with lauki (bottle gourd). Being fond of Gujarati food, I do make Thepalas of times.
Making the thepalas is easy and makes for a healthy breakfast or brunch they remain soft and so go well in tiffin boxes or as picnic food too.

These thepalas can be served hot, warm or at room temperature.
Grated dudhi                                            1 cup
Whole wheat flour                                  1 and 1/2 cup
Lemon juice                                              1 Tsp
Curd                                                            1 Tbsp
Green chilies                                           2
Coriander powder                                 1 Tsp
Cumin powder                                       1/2 Tsp
Red chili powder                                   1 Tsp
Turmeric powder                                  1/2 Tsp
Salt                                                            As per taste
Oil                                                             for roasting as required
Sesame seeds                                        1 Tbsp (roasted)
First rinse and grate the dudhi in a bowl.


Add spices in it- finely chopped green chilies, coriander powder, cumin powder,

red chili powder, lemon juice , salt and Sesame seeds.

Dudhi will released its juices, so no need to add water.

Add 1 Tbsp oil and knead well, make a soft smooth dough.

Use wheat flour for rolling the thepalas,
